Businesses are being reminded to prepare for making their last full payment submissions (FPS) or employer payment summaries (EPS) of the 2018/19 tax year.

The last FPS or EPS up to and including the final day of the financial year on 5 April 2019 requires businesses to include an indicator that they are making the final submission.

This informs HMRC that a business has submitted everything they need to send, and enables the Revenue to begin finalising its records for a business and its workers.

Employers will also need to give a P60 to all staff who are working for them on 5 April 2019, summarising their total pay and deductions for the year. This must be done by 31 May 2019.

Those who are not going to pay anyone during the rest of this tax year will need to send an EPS with the indicator ticked to show it's the final submission, by 19 April 2019.
